THEIR STORY
C12 isn’t simply a business bible study or a Christian business networking group. It’s an architected environment for transformation. In 1992 Buck Jacobs wanted to help Christian business owners and CEOs think about business differently—to see their enterprises as platforms for ministry and to honor God as they scaled so they could increase their Kingdom impact. The pilot groups were called “Christian Twelve” groups, with forums of twelve non-competing business owners who shared a commitment to Christ. The groups quickly multiplied with business owners and CEOs from diverse industries who shared a biblical worldview.
Since 1992, C12 has been supporting faith-driven CEO’s and Entrepreneurs via peer advisory groups across the US. In the last few years, the impact has spread to Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and South Africa. Serving 4,000+ Members who are served by nearly 200 full-time Chairs globally with forums in 125 US metro areas as well as 13 non-US markets for growth-stage businesses, they help leaders build great businesses for a greater purpose by utilizing full-time local market Chairs (Facilitators), using MBA-grade content and proprietary tools.

WHAT THEY DO
“I believe one of the next great moves of God is going to be through the
believers in the marketplace.” —Billy Graham
The High and Holy Calling
C12, the nation’s largest network of Christian CEOs and business owners, finds
marketplace influencers with a vision to see the gospel transform their city. These C12
“Chairs” respond to a high and holy calling, judging their success not by revenue alone
but through the success of those around them. Business leaders become a
“missionpreneur”—a role that merges entrepreneurial leadership and dynamic missional
impact in a for-profit business venture that yields success and significance.
C12 Chairs lead and facilitate monthly Business Forums and coach CEOs and business
owners in one-on-one sessions to help them build great businesses for a greater
purpose.
Are you a Missionpreneur?
The Need
C12 recognizes the opportunity for eternal impact in the marketplace. In addition to the significant need for discipleship among Christians in business, there is tremendous
demand at the leadership level. Of the 120,000 Christian CEOs and business owners
(of C12-eligible companies) in the US alone, fewer than 4,000 are in a faith-driven peer group. Most are isolated and lack accountability, peer support, and an integrated
paradigm. Peer forums demonstrate power and value, compounded when integrated
with a biblical worldview and Business as a Ministry (BaaM) paradigm. While C12 is the
largest operator of Business Forums for Christian CEOs and owners, it is still very much
a blue ocean market opportunity.
“Reaching 4,000 members is a testament to the incredible community of faith-driven leaders we’ve assembled over the years. The nearly 200 full-time Chairs we refer to as‘missionpreneurs’ are critical to this story. Our international growth is a testament to theuniversal appeal of our mission. Our members share a pursuit of excellence, guided byBiblical principles. We are grateful to have played a role in their journey and the storiesbeing lived out. We are excited to see the exponential impact that will be achieved byChristian CEOs and business owners coming together to spur one another in faith andbusiness stewardship.” – Mike Sharrow, C12 CEO

Culture
As a leader, when you face risk, uncertainty, and instability, how do you respond?
On the central plains of the U.S., the open range is inhabited by two herd animals—cattle and bison, or the American Buffalo. Although these seemingly formidable animal species share common ground, how they react to an impending storm is very different.
When the skies darken and the thunder rolls, cattle will scatter and run away from the
approaching danger. But they can’t outrun the quick-moving front, so they end up
remaining in the peak of the storm for a longer period of time, risking injury, separation from the herd, exhaustion, and greater susceptibility to predators. Buffalo, however, will assemble and run headfirst into the approaching storm. They instinctively know that because they are running into the storm instead of with it, they will end up spending a shorter duration of time in the storm with less risk of peril.
As an organization, C12 practices Buffalo Culture:
Stand out, Stand Together
Lead Like Buffalo… lead well
