Florida Family Voice has established itself as the state’s premier public policy organization for Life, Marriage, Family, and Liberty since its founding more than twenty years ago. FFV advocates, lobbies, educates, and mobilizes in order to give voice to Biblical values in government, legislation, and culture. Their signature issues include the sanctity of human life, marriage and family, as well as education and religious liberty.
Their new President will serve as a visionary leader and strategic director to implement the organization’s Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values (PVMV). This role involves stewarding the organization’s resources, fostering a culture of excellence, and leading efforts to advocate for Florida families through a Biblical worldview. The President will spearhead initiatives to influence societal norms, legislative policies, and grassroots movements in support of the organization’s goals.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Florida Family Voice (FFV)—formerly known as Florida Family Policy Council—is one of 40 state-based policy councils around the country affiliated with the Family Policy Alliance, and associated with Focus on the Family, Alliance Defending Freedom and Family Research Council. Many of these councils, like FFV, are leading pro-life, pro-family organizations in their respective states.
FFV is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation led by an independent, six-member Board of Directors using a modified Policy Governance model. Their current budget is $1.2 million, coming primarily through independent donors. They also receive an annual grant of approximately $100,000 with a restricted use for youth scholarships. In addition to the President, there are three full-time and four part-time team members. Their office is located in downtown Orlando, FL.
Mission
To Protect and Defend Life, Marriage, Family, and Liberty Through Education, Advocacy, and Empowerment.
Vision
A Nation Where God is Honored, Life is Cherished, Families Thrive, and Religious Liberty Flourishes.
Core Values
Believing that God is the author of life, liberty, and the family, the Florida Family Policy Council promotes the Christian worldview as the basis for a just, free, and stable society.
God exists and is sovereign over all creation. He created human beings in His image. Human life is, therefore, sacred and the right to life is the most fundamental of natural rights.
Life and love are inextricably linked and find their natural expression in the institutions of natural marriage and the family as the foundation of civilization.
The government has the duty to promote and protect marriage and family in law and public policy.
Humility and integrity are the cornerstones of Christian character and shall influence all that we do.
History
Over the last twenty years, through the prayers and support of like-minded mission partners across the state, Florida Family Voice (FFV) has established itself as one of the nation’s premier public policy organizations. Today, they remain relentless in their pursuit of those things which the unchanging God calls right, just, and beautiful.
While elected officials, government, or even good public policy are important, and each has its role, ultimately their true hope is found in the timeless and unchanging truth and the God who gave us those truths.
FFV seeks to inspire hope in hearts and minds. They also declare their goal to be faithful to their calling to defend and promote life, marriage, family, and liberty into the next twenty years. Core Issues
Below is a list of the most common issues FFV addresses as social conservative, pro-family advocates. See their “Issues and Research” page for more in-depth information, research and arguments on each of these issues.

Florida Family Action
As the legislative arm of Florida Family Voice, FFA is a cultural action organization that is legally a completely separate sister organization. It was created by separating out of FFV those major activities which constitute lobbying under the IRS code so that they can be expanded in scope. It provides a platform for informing, inspiring, and rallying those who care deeply about the family to greater involvement in the moral, cultural, and political issues that threaten the state.
Florida Family Action gives the FFV team much greater freedom to take their views to the public square, where the great debate over culture, rights, freedom, and values is taking place, and allows them to ask people to take specific actions such as calling senators and congressmen to pass important, family-friendly legislation. Its arm, Florida Family Action PAC, is a political action committee under Florida law designed to engage in electioneering or direct political advocacy for or against state legislative candidates. HOW THEY ACCOMPLISH THEIR MISSION
Florida Family Voice engages within the State of Florida policy ecosystem and culture. This involves informing, influencing, and mobilizing a diverse range of stakeholders, including law makers, elected officials, candidates, and voters, as well as key influencers such as clergy, teachers, governmental personnel, and media professionals.
For the last 20 years, FFV has been the tip of the spear regarding the efforts to fulfill their mission, and while they have had great success, they realize that future success will depend on recruiting Floridians to join the cause. They have begun this process through the Pro-Family Days annual event and the FL Capitol Project, but these programs focus only on bringing people to the state capital of Tallahassee during the legislative session.
They are now beginning to better leverage their Church Ambassador Network (CAN) and Florida Capitol Project to recruit Floridians across the state who will influence elected officials at every level—state, county, and local—to adopt laws and policies that conform with a Christian worldview. They anticipate that recruiting, training and supporting these local influencers may require opening multiple “field offices” throughout the state.
Currently, FFV has a lobbyist on the ground in Tallahassee full-time during session (Jan-Feb in even years, Mar-Apr in odd years). They also engage with lawmakers throughout the year on various issues and legislative strategies. They communicate with their constituent donor base using direct mail appeals and emails, and have recently begun producing podcasts covering current events in Florida. They have hosted events around the state to connect with mission partners, local churches, and marketplace leaders who align with their positions, and their annual dinner gala event is their largest fundraiser.
CURRENT STATUS
FFV is known throughout the state for their staunch positions on life and marriage and, consequently, has been blessed with a faithful and consistent donor base. And there are a number of realistic opportunities for growing this network of supporters. The organization has a Charity Navigator rating of 96%, is highly respected by the political leadership in the state, and has a 20-year reputation for success. This success continues to build confidence. It can rightly be said that FFV has had a material impact on the culture of the State of Florida, its governor, legislature, and Supreme Court. In fact, ten years ago, Florida was considered a “purple” state. And while this past year has been a challenging one, the staff is resilient and optimistic about the future, and the work continues to move forward. There is also a desire to open multiple “field offices” throughout the state, which will require additional resources and staff (or volunteers).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Florida Family Voice is seeking someone with personal integrity and character who has demonstrated leadership and stewardship and has significant management experience, along with an ability to communicate publicly and privately, a successful track record in fundraising, and proven experience implementing a strategic plan. He or she must also have the ability to interact with all types of people—government officials, community leaders, donors, volunteers, the general public, and the team at FFV. Terms like team builder, respectful, good listener, engaging, entrepreneurial, and motivational will apply to this person.
The ideal candidate may already be leading another organization—public policy or otherwise—or a major department within an organization. He or she will have management experience and be prepared to lead from the start. They must know how to scale and grow an organization.
He or she must demonstrate a commitment to their family and practice servant leadership. They need to have the ability to communicate and execute the mission, bring good business experience, and understand basic finance. This leader will both understand and live out a Christian worldview and have a heart and spirit that is humble before the Lord, seeking His guidance in both their day-to-day activities and the call that the Lord has placed upon their lives.
