Frontiers USA is the U.S. Sending Base (USSB), with 600 field workers currently serving among the unreached. Teams are located throughout the Muslim world, prioritizing people groups and places with least access to the Gospel. Through recruiting, training, sending, and serving church-planting teams, Frontiers is helping catalyze reproducing movements to Christ through the mission statement, “With love and respect, inviting all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus”.

The Chief Financial Officer contributes to the advancement of the Gospel in the Muslim world by providing oversight of all financial transactions and accounting. He/She also leads the budgeting process and serves as counsel to the USSB Director/Team, other Directors, and fieldworkers on various issues of a financial nature. The CFO attends Board meetings and may be voted in as Treasurer (non-voting position) of the Board. The CFO plays a key leadership role in the USSB and across the international Frontiers community.

HISTORY

In 1982, Greg Livingstone realized that God was calling him to go where the need was greatest and help reach all Muslim peoples with the redemptive message of Jesus Christ.

Greg envisioned a new movement committed to bringing the Good News to the least-reached corners of the Muslim world. He pictured a wave of people willing to go to some of the most challenging places on earth to share Jesus Christ’s message of salvation with Muslims. And so, Frontiers was born. Note: You can learn more about Frontiers’ history in the book, Uncharted Mission.

Now, 42 years later, Frontiers remains laser focused on reaching all Muslim peoples with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Frontiers is an international movement, with sending bases in 30 nations and teams serving in over 50 countries. Frontiers USA is the U.S. Sending Base (USSB), with 600 field workers currently serving among the unreached. Teams are located throughout the Muslim world, prioritizing people groups and places with the least access to the Gospel. Through recruiting, training, sending, and serving church-planting teams, Frontiers is helping catalyze reproducing movements to Christ among Muslims.

With love and respect, Frontiers invites all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus—and looks forward to the day the Good News will be brought to every tribe, language, people, and nation (Revelation 5:9).

OPERATIONS & OFFICE

Frontiers is the largest missions agency in the world with an exclusive focus on reaching Muslims.  Frontiers USA handles approximately $45 million in donations annually, with 65% coming from individuals and 35% coming from churches and foundations. Most home staff work out of the USSB located in Tempe, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix).

Frontiers is governed by a Board of Directors made up of nine voting members (six of whom are independent) serving renewable three-year terms. The board reviews, supports, and oversees the execution of strategy and operates under a policy governance model.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
  • We believe in the full, verbal inspiration of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as authoritative, sufficient, infallible and without error in the original manuscripts, not only as containing, but as being in themselves the only written Word of God; and the need of the teaching of the Holy Spirit for a true and spiritual understanding of the whole.

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing as three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that human beings were created in the image of God, but were tempted by Satan and sinned, and are therefore under God's condemnation. As a consequence of Adam's fall, human nature is totally depraved.

  • We believe in the absolute deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His real and perfect humanity; the authority of His teaching, and the infallibility of all His utterances;

    His work of atonement for the sin of the human race by His vicarious suffering and death;

    His bodily resurrection, and His ascension into Heaven; His present high-priestly intercession for His people; and His lordship over His Church as its supreme Head.

  • We believe in the justification of the sinner, solely by faith, on the grounds of the merits and vicarious suffering, death, and bodily resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit in conviction of sin, regeneration and sanctification, as well as in ministry and worship.

  • We believe that the true Church is composed of only those persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is Head.

  • We believe in the resurrection of the body; the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; the eternal blessedness of believers in Christ; and the everlasting, conscious punishment of unbelievers.

  • We believe in the imminent personal and visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ in glory.

  • We believe that Christ commanded the Church to go into all the world and make disciples of all peoples, baptizing and teaching those who believe.

PROGRAMMATIC ACTIVITIES

Frontiers’ sole purpose is to send workers and teams to the Muslim world in order to share the Gospel with men, women, and children who are without the hope of salvation. They have a four-pronged mission approach:

Recruit

Frontiers coaches across the U.S. find followers of Christ who share their heart for Muslims. Their commitment is to encourage and cast vision for the growing numbers of believers who are answering the call of God, saying, “Here am I, Lord, send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

Frontiers works closely with the churches that are behind the workers who want to go; in some instances, churches will raise up entire teams from within their church to go.

Train

Frontiers field workers live in some of the most difficult places in the world. Equipping them for effective ministry is essential. From language learning and disciple making to personal development and healthy team dynamics, Frontiers’ training prepares workers for fruitfulness on the field.

Send

Frontiers sends teams to inspire transformational movements to Christ in the places least reached by the Gospel. This approach prioritizes getting field workers to the places where the need is the greatest.

Serve

The organization’s pastoral coaches assist workers through every phase—from their initial transition to the field and throughout the challenges of ministry to Muslims. A dedicated team also serves workers’ children, encouraging them as they adapt to new cultures.  The Finance department serves field workers by accurately processing incoming donations, working with HR to ensure that payroll is delivered accurately and on time, and assessing and paying reimbursement requests in a timely manner.  Finance also engages directly with workers via Zoom to discuss various funding opportunities and appropriate ways of accounting for those funds.
